ThinkAR
Senior Mobile App Engineer (iOS / Android)
Develop AiLens and SoraClip applications for connected devices, and build firmware, web and desktop integrations for product requirements and vendor evaluation.
- AiLens — teleprompter and translation: Developed teleprompter workflows with script import, pagination, font controls and in-app previews, alongside live interpretation and two-way conversation translation. Coordinated phone/glasses interaction and text layout with firmware display constraints.
- SoraClip — translation and AI voice assistant: Developed live language translation and AI voice assistant features with language switching, saved conversation history, original-audio recording and playback. Integrated Bluetooth audio and interchangeable AI services, handling interruptions and resource cleanup across conversation sessions.
- Device communication architecture: Designed BLE command abstractions and an execution pipeline covering queuing, response matching, timeouts, cancellation, and error handling.
- Cross-platform proofs of concept and vendor handoff: Built macOS/Windows local bridges and a shared web interface integrating Bluetooth control, Wi-Fi audio/video streaming, device status, and text display. Prepared executable packages and English engineering documentation for vendor testing and handoff.
- Firmware proofs of concept: Modified smart-glasses firmware for WSS audio/video streaming and classroom caption broadcasting to multiple devices. Implemented handling for transmission congestion, frame integrity, caption ordering, and device state across application and firmware layers.
- macOS system integration: Built AiLensUltraCamera, a virtual-camera proof of concept that connects H.264 streams from the glasses to a CoreMediaIO Camera Extension. Integrated Bluetooth connectivity and HFP audio, and produced a universal DMG with code signing and notarization.
- Diagnostics across system layers: Instrumented connection setup as traceable stages, correlating Android state, firmware responses, and Sentry events through connection IDs. Diagnosed media/command packet parsing issues from communication logs and added regression tests.
- Repeatable development tooling: Created macOS firmware build, version archiving, and dual-chip flashing workflows with device identity and calibration data backup/restore. Delivered a Windows flashing variant and added read-back verification and failure handling.
- Architecture in AI-assisted development: Led the design of device, command, and transport interfaces across languages. Used interface polymorphism to share execution flows and kept platform APIs in underlying services, maintaining consistent architectural boundaries across macOS and Windows.
